About Me

Now that we are living in the middle of the Pacific, we thought a family blog would be a great way to stay in touch with our friends and family! We look forward to posting pictures and daily happenings, and hope that you will visit often!

It's been way too long!

Well, it has taken me way too long to update our blog! We've been very busy since December so we have tons of pictures to share! Instead of doing different posts for each thing, I'm just going to group all of the pictures together and caption them so that you can see what we've been up to! Hopefully it won't jump around too much! Here goes...enjoy!!

Kensley finally started sleeping in her big girl bed, which she refers to as her "open bed!" She was so excited the day we got it and hovered over Erik the entire time he was setting it up. She picked out the hot pink comforter, and couldn't wait to sleep in it! She's doing a great job so far and definitely gets the invisible boundary of the bed at night so we're very proud of her! Here she is showing off her new digs...

Here she is putting on a show for us. There's no shortage of concerts in our house. Anytime you'd like to hear a medley of toddler favorites, you can always count on a show at the Peterson's!

Our artist hard at work! This was taken at playmorning which we attend two or three times a week. This paint ended up all over her by the time she was done (I guess any true artist can't be too neat).

Running through the sprinkler in her new bikini from MeMe & PopPop!

The next two pics are from St. Patty's Day at Chuck E. Cheese. She couldn't wait to drive the school bus like PopPop and wanted her picture taken in it so that she could show him!

Here we are at the Honolulu Zoo! We went with our very good friends... Hillary and her two girls Ava & Reese, and Dani with her daughter Brynn and son Tyler.

Kensley & Brynn excited to see more animals hand in hand!

A recent pic of Kensley hugging Daddy to death! He gets no shortage of hugs when he's home. This is one little cowgirl who just adores her Daddy!

We recently took a hike on the eastern shore of Oahu. The poor doggies made it all the way to the top (barely) and had to be carried most of the way back! They slept for three days after this! We had a great time though, and Kensley is a born hiker, she loves it!

Here's a view from the top on the same hike.

Here we are on the Pineapple Express at the Dole Pineapple Plantation. Kensley loved the train ride and getting to see all of the baby pineapples in the fields.

Just a picture of our sweet little munchkin. Gotta love that face!

Being silly with Daddy during her bedtime story

Yay Erik!! We're so proud of him for being selected for Major! Here's a few of the signs that Kensley helped me make for him.

Daddy has to leave for a month long training and Kensley tries to sneak away with him in his blouse! Actually, I think Daddy would try to sneak her with him too if he could!

Kensley is a natural born baker. She loves helping me cook and bake, and is stirring some brownie batter. Of course, no good chef would cook in anything less then a tutu!

Here we are on a recent trip to the Macadamia Nut Farm! Gramma & Grampa were visiting!

We recently took a trip to Kauai and had a wonderful time! It was nice to see another island. Amazingly, although most would think all of the islands would be the same, we have found that they each have their own distinct feeling. We are hoping to go back to Kauai someday to see the Na Pali coast. The next few pics are
from our trip!

Well, that's what we've been up to the last several months!! Erik's deployment is fast approaching so we'll be trying to stay busy for the rest of the year as well. Coming soon...pictures of Erik during his recent training and leaving for a far corner of the world. And, maybe a few surprises as well!
